About the Jazz Festival:
The Clarence Jazz Festival is Tasmania’s premier jazz festival featuring six days of concerts in a distinctive range of riverside settings. It is renowned among patrons for its great locations and unrivalled good vibes.
In 2008 the Festival welcomes the return of the very popular George Washingmachine as Festival Ambassador. The Sydney based musician is a brilliant jazz violinist and vocalist who will jam with over a dozen different bands during the festival.
In addition to the regular series of twilight and evening concerts, the Jazz Lounge will take the music well into the night. Set in one of Tasmania’s oldest surviving stone barns (c.1815), the Jazz Lounge will combine upbeat jazz funk with custom designed digital projection artwork.
